This year SXDance have put on many performances, some for charity, some for the university and some for outside of the university.
We have also put on regular workshops for schools in Colchester where we give the children a chance to learn different styles of dance for free!
Here is a list of all the things we have done so far this year!
- Performance at the Sports and Societies ball at the beginning of the year
- Performance for Black History Month in subzero
- Helped in raising money for charity through the Essex Apprentice
- Competed at Durham Fusion dance competition against many other universities and won 1st place in Street/Hip hop, 1st in Contemporary and 2nd in Break. We also entered intermediate ballet and Jazz where we came 4th!
- Taught dance workshops at a primary school in Greenstead as well as teaching dance as a P.E lesson at St Mary’s private school in Colchester town.
What we plan to do:
- We have been asked to perform at Colchester football ground for their last match of the season in May!
- Do a workshop at a dance school in Surrey.
- Our annual show on the 13th and 14th of May!
