Rehearsing in Edinburgh (above) This year in December (2009), we competed in Durham university Fusion dance competition. We competed in jazz, ballet, street and break. through the hard work our competition squad put in, we managed to get 1st place in street, 1st in contemporary, 2nd place in break and 4th place in jazz! we are looking forward to competing again next year where hopefully we will be able to compete in several competitions and bring lots of dan cers with us!

We are plannig to go to Salou again this year on our dance tour to compete against other university dance clubs, more information about this will be available soon on Facebook and the club website. In order to give its members the opportunity to compete Essex Blades Dance Club will run regular classes teaching the routines and extra rehearsals right before the competition, but in order to do well we need lots of enthusiastic and dedicated dancers to attend classes and perform!

If you would like to represent Essex Blades Dance Club and indeed The University of Essex please speak to either Krista our President or Amy Jo-Thomson our Vice President, to see which styles are being entered into competitions. Or if you have any information on competitions or tours we may like to attend please speak to our Social Secretary, Mellisa Smith-Marable .
