Essex Blades Dance Club asks members to wear the Essex Blades colours, black and red,
for competitions, fundraisers, workshops and classes. Most members wear black leggings and a
red/black t-shirt or vest. We do supply our own vest tops with Essex Blades Dance Club printed
on the back. ALso new this year, we have our very own dance tracksuits which can be customised! So if you would like one please contact our President Krista Anne- Pettit

(An Essex Blades Dance Club vest top is compulsory for members taking part in competitions and
the annual show.)
Clothes must be suitable for movement, so jeans are not a good idea! Some members prefer to wear leotards and tights whereas others prefer to wear Hoodies and tracksuit bottoms but whichever you are most comfortable in is fine! And as long as shoes are appropriate to the style you are doing, we don’t expect you to splash out on all the proper dance shoes, however no socks to be worn when dancing!!
Most sports clubs at the University of Essex are now part of Essex Blades and have a kit with the Blades logo and Students Union logo on it. You can also choose to have your name embroidered on most of the items to make them more personal. See www.kitlocker.com/essexblades and select "Dance" from the drop-down menu labelled "Your Club" to see what items are available.
We will be organising bulk orders from kitlocker once a term so if you would like an Essex Blades Dance Club hoody, polo shirt, or any other kit please speak to our Social Secretary, Mel (msmithd@essex.ac.uk).
